Membership
You are eligible to become a member of Muskegon Co-op Federal Credit Union if you meet the following qualifications
- If you live or work in Muskegon, Ottawa, Oceana or Newaygo County and are a member of Muskegon Co-operative Services, Inc. If you live in these counties, you can join Muskegon Co-operative Services at the credit union by paying a one-time fee of $1.
- If you have an Immediate Family Member* or Household Member** that is currently a member.
- If you are a spouse of persons who died within the field of membership of this credit union.
- If you are an employee of Muskegon Co-op Federal Credit Union.

*For membership purposes, “immediate family member” is defined as spouse, child, sibling, parent, grandparent, grandchild, great grandparent, aunt, uncle, niece, or nephew. This definition also includes “step” and adoptive relationships.
**For membership purposes, “household” is defined as persons living in the same residence maintaining a single economic unit. In other words, cohabitants.
What to bring
When opening a new membership, we will need your social security number, a current driver’s license or state issued ID, the name and social security number of anyone that you want listed as a joint owner or beneficiary on the account, and $6 to pay the $1 fee to join the Co-operative Services and $5 deposit to activate the account.
Refer-A-Friend
Our Refer-A-Friend program pays you for referring your friends and family to Muskegon Co-op FCU. If you refer a new member and they finance a loan with us, you will each receive $20.
